Not a single day - documentary Fotos
Dante had just started school when his parents freed themselves from the shackles of sharecropping in 1963 and then rented a small farm in the Po Valley in northern Italy.
He started working on the farm when he was 14 years old, and after the death of his parents 30 years ago, he does everything alone.
With his 12 cows he produces milk from which Parmesan cheese is made.
His daily life flows the same over the years, dictated by the needs of the cattle, the seasons marked by the rhythms of the countryside: the harvest, the hays, the sowing. Dante still carries out most of his activities out by hand, as in the past, or with the aid of obsolete machinery. He doesn't know what it means to be on vacation, nor has he ever had a day off in thirty years.
Despite the hard work, he appreciates his freedom.
But now, at the age of 64, he has to leave his home, his land and abandon his daily occupation because the owners of the farm want to kick him out.
The farm is to be sold to investors.
The film accompanies Dante Menozzi in his last year of activity.
